Dear Homeowners,
My husband and I live in East Texas. In 1999 we purchased a "Lake Cabin" which came with Masonite siding and a twenty five (25) year guarantee. Just this year, we noticed the siding was rotting. We called the builder of the cabin, who kindly came out to see the problem but notified us they had had ongoing problems with the Masonite prior to our purchase. They had had to replace the siding in entire subdivisions. However, the Masonite company went out of business one year prior to our cabin purchase and now they can do nothing for us and good luck... Needless to say we thought we were stuck until I went on the internet and located your subdivision as one that was affected by builders there using the Masonite. We are now too late to get in on the Class Action Lawsuit but have requested a Warranty Claim.
MY QUESTION IS.....we you satisfied with the outcome of your claim and did it pay enough to replace your siding? And as a result of the rotting were your wall studs or subflooring also damaged???
I would appreciate any input on this, thank you for your time.
