OCA was informally organized in December of 1998. Since that time the group has grow to represent residents from 17 different subdivisions and has been actively involved on zonings and issues affecting the Oakdale area and Cobb County.
Members of OCA decided that to better represent the Oakdale area it was time to incorporate. We are now in the process of changing to a dues paying organization. (Household memberships of $10. a year.) This entitles members to information on zoning, schools and area concerns.
We will have community meetings at announced dates and have a 12 member Board of Directors that meets on a monthly basis. Zoning and other concerns are discussed and voted upon at these meetings if warranted. The membership at large is encouraged to contact Officers or Members of the Board on any issues on which they may have an opinion. The Board weighs members' opinions in making recommendations as to what stand OCA will take on any issue. Oakdale Community Association is also a member of COBB COUNTY CIVIC COALITION a countywide group that advises the Board of Commissioners and the Director of Cobb County Community Development on community issues.
