I just want to bring this to everyone's attention now before it becomes a problem. Once again we are having a group of teenagers hang out on the corner of a Oakforge Dr. and Pine Forge Circle. I have a few issues with that. Number 1 these kids do not live near the houses on this corner.  Number 2 they use lots of loud profanity. Today they were yelling at each other hell and the young men were calling the two girls ho ( I apologize I don't know what the proper spelling is).  Number 3 they decide to hang on neighbors trees or throw things in there as the case was today. Number 4 they are disrespectful to each other and any adult that asks them to stop doing the things they are doing.

Last summer we had to contact the police because two boys decide to start fist fighting and threatening to kill each other in front of our home.  These boys were escorted away by the police. I will not do this junk again this summer. Watch your own kids please.  In this area where the kids love to hang out we have at least 5 children under the age of 7.  That means that as a parent and a homeowner in this neighborhood I will not tolerate these young adults hanging out where they do not live screaming profanities, tearing up others property and being disrespectful to the adults that live in this area.  Today was not horrible, but it was not something I welcome coming home to.  I am all about kids being present throughout our neighborhood, but I do not want to feel like I can not take my child in front of my home for fear of what these young adults might think is funny to say loudly.  I might sound like a prude, but I find this to be extremely disrespectful. I think that if I were hanging out in front of someone elses house calling people names and cussing just because it sounds cool I might offend others as well.

I appreciate you all listening or at least reading what my concerns are.  Today there were 4 boys looked to be ages 12 - 15 and 2 girls about the same ages. Like I said today was mild, but I would like to discourage this hanging out at the beginning of the warm season so I do not have to have headaches later in the summer.

You in no way should be affected by the ill manners of your neighbors kids.  Can you provide the addresses of the children involved?  Our management company can send a letter to their parents advising of their truancy or disregard to others well being.  While we hate to get involved in a familys ability to keep their children within the rules of society, if some of the kids are just being abusive, then we all need to get involved.  I prefer to say we will introduce them to the criminal justice system just a little earlier than they would normally be.  Basically you will be doing the entire neighborhood a favor by calling the police on any infraction or behavior you deem to be offensive, regardless of the age of the child.  If it offends or is a concern or yours, call the police and let the parents answer the questions.  I for one would prefer to see the police here every day.

I do not know where the kids live. I see them every year, but they don't live here. All I know is they are very rude and disrespectful. Typically when an adult approaches them they either do not react or role their eyes and look at you like you are from another planet.

Is is possible to have a police officer or an off duty police officer to come into our neighborhood randomly to try and help keep these groups to a minimum?

I also thought of a way to get more people to come to the annual meetings. You could do a drawing for one free year of homeowners fees. You have to be there to get put into the raffle. Just a thought. I know that would be very motivating to me. :)

Yes to all of your questions, it is possible to have the police randomly patrol our neighborhood and they have already been called to do so.  We have a stipulation built into our neighborhood by laws that we can not give any special consideration or incentive to pay early etc.. we are in the process of trying to get that taken away.  As the new community was evolving the originators of our community felt obligated to build in to all of the covenants every possible stop gap procedure to insure the community continued to run as they originally anticipated.  Times have changed and we now have a new set of paradigms so we need to adjust to those standards.  The board is working on a solution to that situation now.
