Stop Sign Proposal Not Adopted
The vote was 21 in favor and 31 not in favor last night at the HOA meet. Now the proponents need to explore other means to control speeding. Last night's vote was remarkable for the atmosphere of civility, good humor, mutual trust in the veracity of each speaker's statements of fact, trust in the fairness of the ad hoc voting process, and expeditious discussion and vote. The whole meeting lasted 45 minutes, and that included addressing other issues as well! Congratulations Mel and company.
On the down side, we didn't settle on a solution to an important concern of our neighbors on St. Andrews Ave. Hopefully, the HOA will continue to explore other possible solutions that will take advantage of psychology, e.g. RADAR machines that display speed to the drivers, changing driver perception of the street in a way that will naturally slow driving.
