Dispatch Story

OK, for starters you say the author is a ''weird'' guy. Which one is the guy, Jennifer or Jill ? There was a ten month investigation, the first of it's kind by the way, of the system, which found about 1,700 educators had been disciplined for everything from shoplifting to murder and two-thirds were allowed to continue teaching or went on to find new teaching jobs. Now, you tell us that after all this, the stories are bogus, because the Dispatch wants to sell a few more papers and the investigators are not real professionals. Is that right ? Can you back up your claims ?

Public vs. Private

I goggled public vs private and read many articles. The general consensus was that one was not better than the other, but each had it's pros and cons and whichever fit your child better is the one you should choose. Interestingly, all the articles claimed that the teaching over all was better at public schools, teachers are required to hold degrees, are better paid, have mandated curriculums and a mandated number of days to teach. All of these requirements are not mandated of private schools. Where private schools get their edge is smaller class size and parental involvement.

Olentangy is rated very high!

Olentangy Liberty High as well as Olentangy High were both rated in a nationally known magazine as being one of the top 200 and 300 high schools in all of the U.S. Where did your parochial school rate? I do not recall seeing very many parochial schools on that list. Shouldn't they have taken the top 500 somewhere?

They obviously did not teach you to read very well in your parochial school. If they did, maybe you would have known this!
