Yards

Posted in: Walden Creek and Walden Estates
I was just wondering if there is something in the HOA rules about neighbors that don't maintain or take care of their yards (especially the front yards). It seems that everyone is worried about the appearance of our neighborhood. However, in my opinion your yard or landscaping is one of the most important aspects of a house (neighborhood) looking good!

Thanks!
Yard appearance

Yes and no.
City ordinances govern things such as grass height, debris, sanitation and/or safety issues, such as low branches or trash piles. Walden Creek & Estates covenants cover things like the number of trees per lot required, vehicle parking and trash receptacle(s) placement. However, no matter who says it, covenants are difficult to enforce. There are no rules regarding shrubs, gardens, decoration or landscaping in general. We have several families that do not landscape and while their front yard appearance is rather plain, only grass height and nuisance ordinances are enforcable.
