Okolona Park Neighborhood Association

I live on South Acres Dr. just behind where the new Cheddar's Restaurant was built.  Before Cheddar's came we had a beautiful wooded area behind our back yard.  Then they cleared the woods (taking away what was home to many small animals & wildlife) and it sat empty & ugly for a couple of years before construction began on the restaurant.  It is now uglier than ever & the problems that came along with this construction will never end!  The once tall trees served as a break for strong winds and fierce rains.  Now even the lightest winds are causing damage to our property.  We've lived here for 22+ years and never experienced any of this until they cleared the woods to make way for yet another restaurant (do we not have enough eating establishments in Okolona?).  Now our windows rattle & shake with just the slightest bit of wind, blowing branches, twigs & other debris into our yard.  Our fence has shifted and is at the point of almost completely being demolished.  We hear all of the noise from not only the restaurant but also the traffic along Outer Loop.  We cannot even enjoy our property anymore!  Please fix this!

I live on Minyard Dr. and I understand your point of losing the wooded area behind your home, but I am relived they are developing the area as long as development continues seems to have halted after Cheddars. The city/state does a terrible job keeping outer loop trash picked up. At least with businesses there I assume they will keep grounds around their establishment clean. I would like to see something done with the corner of Minyard and Pitchfork it is an eyesore with dead trees and trash throughout.
