Elected officials and citizens were in attendance for the Office of the Attorney General's 14th annual Open Government Summit. Hosted by AG Kilmartin and the Roger Williams University School of Law, the summit focused primarily on the recent amendments to the Access to Public Records Act (APRA).
The summit included opening remarks by Attorney General Kilmartin and Dean David Logan, a presentation on APRA by Assistant Attorney General Michael W. Field and Special Assistant Attorney General Lisa Pinsonneault, a panel discussion, and a lively question and answer session.
The Attorney General's Office was instrumental in the passage of the APRA amendments and stresses the importance of transparency in the facilitation of democracy.
If you were unable to attend, materials from the Open Government Summit, including the agenda and presentation, are available online.
