Personally, I think a new development atop the old landfill along Alameda would be a good thing. Who cares if they got the land for $10. There's a lot of expense in capping a landfill and making the open area appealing. There's nothing attractive or useful about the area now. So what if it's "open" space. Open to whom? The two or three people a day who walk all the way around the apartments, up the path to the dam, and then down into open land. For the vast majority of Windsor Gardens residetns, it might as well be closed to the public.
