Just a heads up, There have been a couple of break-ins on Morton Avenue in the past week to steal bicycles and personal items, and a couple of bikes have been stolen from our neighbors. The police said that several homes in the area have been burglarized and that they think the guy is loitering around to see what peoples habits are, we saw a guy fitting the description of the guy seen with one of the bikes sitting on the wall by the school on Morton 2 days in a row before the first break in. The police said that if you see a guy fitting the description or any other person who just seems to be hanging around to call the radio room and that they will send someone to question them and there is no need to say anything to them. The police said the only way they will catch the guys is for neighborhood locals to let them know when people are hanging around.
The guy that the neighbors saw with one of the bikes was a black male of medium complexion about 5'9'' 230lbs with cornrows/braids and was wearing a button down blue shirt with khaki shorts. After the first break in last week a guy fitting that description was on our doorstep with a white male and one of the neighbors saw them and they took off.
If you see anyone suspicious you can call the radio room downtown at 574-7111 or call 574-7637 and ask for Detective Datillo.
