Once again the makeup of the VOS Board of Directors has changed. Let me extend a sincere welcome to these new Directors as they continue to work in the best interests of our community. As more neighbors become active in the operation of our community we become a better community. There are many complex and costly issues before the Board -- seems it's been that way for the past 4 years -- but we will survive, and prosper. Let all of us put aside our differences and support these Directors in what can only be described as a serious responsibility -- the future of Southport. bill cleary

Dear Bill
It's always a pleasure to read your comments on ''the link''. I haven't been reading it for a while, but I have always admired your positive and yet direct (straigth-to-the-point) views. I was shocked when I learned that you were one of the ''ones'' to be removed from the board. It was very disappointing!!! Do you think ''we as the people'' will ever get it together? I don't think so until people stop listening to others and actually go to the meetings and witness what's really going on for themselves. p.s. I don't regret some of the members being removed from the board, I knew it was a matter of time, based on their personal actions against other residents here in the village. But it's sad to know you are no longer on the board. I guess, sometimes people don't know a good thing when they see them! Good luck, and keep being positive. You still makes a different. (smile) And last, I like the president of the board. He seems to be a no nonsense person and he is firm and yet fair. I think we have at least got this person in the right position! Hopefully, he will stay. Take care, wish you well, always. By smiley |
