The Overlook of Carriage Hills

Come on, are we really serious? What a complete waste of money! This devalues our property and serves no purpose. We live in a very small, quite, and tranquil community and this sign does not belong here. It is practically a billboard at the entrance/exit of our community which now has a bright light that turns on when it gets dark and stays on all night long. We have had some really serious and extremely important announcements that the entire community MUST KNOW about (I say this jokingly) which include: Have a Nice day, upcoming board meeting, Have a safe and Happy Halloween, be thankful for your blessings both big and small, and adopt an Airman for Thanksgiving. OOH-I guess I can bet what's next: MERRY CHRISTMAS! Oh wait a minute, you better be politically correct with that one. I know this is not what we pay $62.50 a quarter for...is this the best the board could come up with? I cannot even believe it was approved! I only wish more consideration was given to all the neighbors in making a decision. To add any new improvements to our house we must get it approved by the board to make sure it does not devalue the community. Why is this ridiculous sign an exception? Please tell me we are not the only HOA members wth any sense in this community!

NO, you are not the only one that feels that way about the sign. We wrote an email to a HOA Board member to ask when it had been approved and was told it was done prior to her election. However, we have been living here for over four years and NO ONE EVER MENTIONED IT. What really pissed us off is that the money spent on the sign could have been put to better use. Now we will have to pay for electricity because of it and frankly, WHO NEEDS THAT SIGN???? It needs to be taken down. Restrictions are for everyone and everything; otherwise, why have them! And, by the way, the person placing the paper complaint on the sign after it got erected ought to be congradulated - I only wish we had done it.
