New School Unveiled
The new school was ''unveiled'' last night. Copies of the blueprint & building circulated through the auditorium.
The architect walked through the planning of the building & emphasized that simple and efficient were words used a lot in the development.
I thought it was pretty plain - a version of Tussing. Very simple square lines. The biggest difference this school has is more intervention space. Apparently Tussing elementary has converted many closets & storage areas to intervention areas to help students.
The architect told the audience there would be no design awards won with this school. He also said the rate of inflation was .75% per month so waiting a year has equated to $1.5M. He also saie the square footage was devoted to student space versus extraneous offices.
The district was getting a cd version of the drawings to put on the district website.
Need to get kids in bed - more later.
