5 pm on Monday night is an unworkable time for folks who work for a living, as most of us do. I'm seldom home before 6:30 myself. It's not a good idea for educators to emphasize the difference between their workdays and ours in this manner.
If the school board is serious about wanting our views (and they should be, since they work for us), then they need to reschedule this session to no earlier than 7 pm. They also need to give us more than a couple days notice. If they don't, we will know they're not serious.
We all know there is serious overcrowding in Grades K-6 in our schools. But if the PLSD wants to float $36 million of bonds at our expense for this purpose, they've still got a lot of explaining to do. Answering Yosemite Pam's questions from a few strings back, which capture most of my concerns, would be a good place to start.
Otherwise, I am afraid we're all off to Never Never Land.
