Insiders endorsed in Fairfield County
Wednesday, March 15, 2006
As a public official and a Republican, I want to state how disappointed I am with my party?’s endorsements in Fairfield County.
The nonendorsement of County Commissioner Mike Kiger shows what the GOP leadership is all about. If you are an insider who doesn?’t rock the boat, you are endorsed. But if you challenge the status quo at the courthouse, as Kiger has, you aren?’t endorsed.
If you stand up to liberal politicians who want to raise the sales tax without a vote of the people, as Kiger did, you won?’t be endorsed. If you investigate potential abuses of vacation and sick leave in county offices, as Kiger has, you won?’t be endorsed.
Four years ago, voters elected Kiger to shake up the status quo in county government. He has done exactly that and I support him 100 percent.
