Voter anger
On the one hand I agree with the Old Time Voter. I think I will also vote for Petro. He has introduced a three step plan to address the most pressing issues in the state and that is our budget, education and economic development. Blackwell seems to clutch his bible and only come up with head line grabbing clips. He headed up the TABOR State constitution amendment initiative which is posted below and I believe that would be a disaster for the state and our school systems that are going.
I am also disappointed in some of our local GOP leaders. However to paint them all with the same brush seems like there is some real anger issues brewing here. I don't believe that there is a grand conspiracy going on here in Pickerington but I think there is some amount of divisions of the leaders. I also think the divisions deal more with political egos and outside influences rather than a split or abandoning the over all goals of the community.
Then there are the county wide candidates. They are all political and they are supported by the parties. New leadership in the party has been going on for years. Each time one GOP group over powers the other we imagine this split in the party which the average voter could care less about. It will be up to each and every candidate to present themselves to the voters and get their vote. Being endorsed by either the County Party or local clubs does not always ensure a victory at the polls.
Elsea is endorsed by the county party and that endorsement along with $.39 will buy you a senior coffee at Mickey Dees. Kiger was not endorsed in 2002 and it will probably not hold him back this time.
There seems to be some voter anger and I am afraid that will have a negative effect on the PLSD bond issue. For those that are angry you all need to get over it and get involved in the process. If you don't have the time or temperament to run for office then help out someone who will.
