Sabatino is looking out for us

Another viewpoint

I too would like to respond to some of the comments quoted in this article. First to ?“the hell with you...?” Shaver I think saying nothing is going to happen in the future is short-sighted much like the way you approach your so-called service to this city. If you believe this, look into your crystal ball and tell me where YOU will be in two years. You wanted to be a councilman and then you didn?’t. You wanted to be mayor and how many times have you quit since? You wanted to be a judge but then you didn?’t. You wanted to be a big supporter of the police department when you had your hit and run accident but then you did and said the things you did when the same police department was duty bound to respond to the 911 call at your house. So tell us truly why you are guaranteeing nothing will happen in the future. Obviously you, Riggs, Fix and Smith have much higher aspirations then serving this little burg. This is simply your stepping stone. Perhaps after you all attain your goals and move on we will actually see some beneficial cooperation between the city and township and not just the political posturing you are demonstrating now.

Shaver, who are you saying ?“the hell with??” Are you saying the hell with council, the hell with the city, the hell with the township or the hell with it all? Be more specific. You and your posse mentioned above are so transparent in your motives. Obviously there is little to no gain for the city by entering into jedds with the township or you would just do it and tell us later. You are spending too much time posturing to have anything in the bank. Show us the money. Show us before you politicize this further how much the city is going to have to ante up to get dealt in the game. Tell us how much the township has to ante. Then tell us the stakes and how much each body can expect to get in return.

I ask your other blonde stooge quoted in the last paragraph about ?“evenly splitting the leftover revenues?”. For pity sakes woman, when was the last time you EVER heard of the township splitting ANYTHING with ANYONE evenly??? Call your buddy Mayor Jeff and ask him how EVEN the splits are between them and the township at Canal Pointe. Better yet, call Marsha Hall and ask her. Ask the even split of costs to start up the ceda and ask the even split of the returns.

Now on to the brain trust of this Shaver-mania group on Lockville Road the amazing Mrs. Riggs. We haven?’t heard a peep out of you since the ?“overthrow of Heidi?” Shaver punishes every resident of the city over. Then you finally go back to counting quotes in the papers and this is the best you can come up with? Come on honey, get LoParo at least to write your quotes. He is doing such a bang-up job for J Kenny. ''If it doesn't work, we walk away and there's no more JEDD,'' she said. She said a mouthful. Let?’s consider this. Isn?’t a jedd or a ceda a contract? So you are saying that you can just walk away from a contract. Sorry to be repetitive but it stuns me that much she would say something like this. Isn?’t a jedd or ceda a contract that typically lasts 99 years? What was the look on your law director?’s face when you publicly stated that you could walk away from a 99 year contract? That was a picture that should have accompanied this article. Is this the ethical and moral standard you teach? Enter into a contract and then, if is just a little one and you don?’t like it, walk away??

Oh for Pete?’s sake. Who are these people? How can they be running a city when they can be so easily duped by the township farmers? Jeff (do you want fries with that) Fix is no more than a puppet for the trustees. They have their hand up his shirt and his lips are moving. Much of his campaign funding to buy his seat came from these trustees and their supporters.

Now to those of you who are going to respond to this saying I am picking on poor Shaver and poor Riggs and poor Fix and how great they are and how wonderful they are I say read the postings above. They have the gonads to make these outlandish political statements then please assume they have the gonads to take a little criticism for their rhetoric.

Let me say one last thing and I?’ll shut the hell up. Why are the Shaverettes so rabidly supporting commercial development in the township? Cooperation? Hmmm, I wonder. I thought the whole premise behind impact fees was that they would NOT drive development into the township? Why has commercial development in the city seemed to have ground to a halt while offices are being built on Wright Road and big box development is happening near the North campus? Will we get more from jedds and cedas than we would get from impact fees? Were impact fees a mistake? Were Wright, Parker and Sabatino right all along? If they were right about impact fees what else were they right about?

The republican club RULES!!! Right?? Like someone said earlier, if a candidate is supported by any one of the Shaverettes I will not vote for them. Frankly I have had my belly full of the great and wonderful people.

The opportunities not coming

I think before any of you get on the band wagon on this wondrous JEDD agreement and the new spirit of cooperation by the Mayor of the Township you should have a definition of what the Mayor and Jeff Fix are talking about when they say ''it may lead to other opportunities'' and ''it could increase our odds of Pickerington being added to the CEDA''.

Clearly the Big Box has said in their report that they are looking to ''finance'' the infrastructure with a JEDD agreement. What the developer is planning is only a study.

In 2004/2005 the Township spent thousands of dollars for a land use update. The Commission consisted of only members from the unincorporated districts of the Township. In their report and land use update they recommended that the property in question would become mixed use with office buildings and some upscale homes. In addition to support this future planning the County Engineer helped plan any future road improvements to handle these new developments.

However in the Regional Planning Commission staff report they point out many of the deficiencies of the plan because it lacked adequate road widening for Refugee and Pickerington Roads. They repeating complain that ''this is not what we talked about in 2004/2005''. They also say that they have not got any plans in place to address a widening either with plans or funding. They also indicate they have no plans to do so in the very near future.

The Engineer also points out the safety issue with a high speed road next to a High School and sidewalks near the road way. I believe outside the restricted times of day for the school the speed limits is 45 MPH. If you lower the speed limit for safety reasons then you also lower the capacity of the road. Heidi buy me a couple of beers and I will explain that all to you. Bring your hot wheels cars with you.

Then the Trustees seems to be very ready to ignore their citizens land use plan just like good old boy Randy Hughes used to say that it was only a guide line. If it is only a guide line then why did they contract and spent tax dollars for a report they want to now ignore?

So Jeff here comes the JEDD. They want to invite the City into this JEDD along with the Wright road JEDD and we know that there is very little infrastructure needs for Wright Road and boy after they have screwed up the big box zoning and they get their butts recalled the City and the Township will be left with trying to find money to build the roads and other infrastructure that the county Engineer seems to be very reluctant to provide any time soon. If they want the City's help in this big box then why don't they submit a complete plan now and involve the city now.
