We thought that perhaps we'd try a slightly different angle this time for the topic of the week.
This morning, I (Coyote) had a close call with another motorist at the Hill Road - Refugee Road intersection. I was travelling north bound on Hill Rd and the other person was making a right turn from Refugee Rd. I had a green light. There is no way the other guy even stopped before making his right on red turn and ended up forcing me into a screeching tires, lane change manuever. Of course this started a hand gesture contest that lasted until the light at Bob Evans.
So tell us, what is the worst intersection in Pickerington? What bad experiences have you had?

Here's my latest rave part 1
What the HECK does the city have in mind with anything and everything from Drug Mart to PYAA??????????
My God, there is not a safe time or day to get through there without almost dying. Good thing that Funeral Home is there and ready for drive up service. I expect they?’ll be seeing me by summer?’s end.
Sit back, buckle up tight and take a ride with me that I took Saturday to go to Kroger and back.
Going along north just before Courtland Lane the car in front of me decided to turn left on Courtland. No big deal except there is no turn lane there. Plenty of room for one but the city has not deemed enough death and destruction has occurred there to warrant a simple paint change. The car turning in front of me stops in the northbound lane then decides to angle himself sort of going in and sort of not. I have no where to go but the guy behind me thinks there is enough room in this house?’s front yard to pass all of us on his most important journey. Then he flips me off. I don?’t think it was Coyote. Anyway, I survive that and get going again. The speed limit changes to 50mph so I go ahead and speed up to 50.
The people pulling out of the Post Office street heading north apparently have no idea that they are doing a right on red after NOT stopping into a 50 mph zone because the look you in the eye as they pull in front of you forcing you into what mow must be called the Coyote maneuver. They then rapidly accelerate up to almost 25 mph in this 50 zone. Couldn?’t the city keep the speed limit to 35 mph until after the light at the Post Office?
Next comes the Catholic Church. I am not an overly religious person and harbor no feeling for or against any religion but the Catholics in Pickerington must have invented the phrase ?“God is my copilot.?” Since they have the assurance of the Almighty that they will be protected no matter what they do when exiting the church they never even attempt to stop or check for oncoming traffic before pulling out into this 50 mph zone. They don?’t even bother to try to accelerate after pulling into traffic because another church-goer protected by God Himself pulls out in front of them.
Now my blood pressure is past the point of cranial implosion but I keep my hands and fingers below other driver?’s line of sight lest I tick off God. Here comes PYAA. Need I say a word on this? Parents, you have several children of probably your own flesh and blood strapped into your death wagon. How can you put you future lineage at risk by making the stupid decisions you do when it comes to traffic??
I proceed north in relative safety until the new Diley intersection. Someone in the city told me that the city gave the owner of the Drug Mart plaza until sometime last year to comply with moving the entrance further up Diley or the city would close the existing entrance. What the heck happened there? Does the owner have better lawyers than the city? There?’s a line of cars out into Hill Road because a couple of cars are trying to turn into Drugs-R-Us and not a single self-important, self-involved person waiting on Diley will let them through. GRIDLOCK!

Here's my latest rave part 2
Coming south from Kroger on the way home I made it safely through the Diley intersection but the right lane is supposed to merge south of Diley. Well to the idiot in the red minivan in the right lane, merge meant make a hard left into my vehicle. I could look out my passenger window and see all his PYAA kids; that?’s how far I was already up on him and he makes a hard left. So I suddenly find myself going south in the northbound lane with the surprised looks of all the people who just experienced what I did coming north. Suddenly, through no reason I could control I am the victim of the Coyote maneuver from a half-dozen stressed and angry drivers. I suppose I should have let Mr. PYAA blast me and endanger his kids and mine so not to tick off the other drivers, many of whom had God as their copilot.
Anyway, I am really rambling. Suffice it to say that my journey through the demilitarized zone was not much better going south then it was going north. Why can?’t PYAA schedule all their events from midnight to 6 am? Why does there have to be masses 24/7?
WHY ISN?’T THE CITY DOING A SINGLE THING TO HELP THIS SITUATION OTHER THAN BRINGING MORE DEVELOPMENT INTO THE AREA???
We?’re all supposed to bow down and thank the city leaders when they bring more commercial development in, right? OK, I?’m down on one knee and thanking you all but why not take a page from our friends in the ?“Wal-Mart?” area of Refugee and IMPROVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE BEFORE YOU DEVELOP?? Wouldn?’t that be a novel concept?

speed limit
Guys or gals...why are you doing 50 when it is so dangerous? Why does the city allow the 50 mph speed limit when they give curb cuts wherever it looks OK to anyone who can say the word engineering with out stuttering?
That being said, all of this thing could be fixed but it would cost city taxpayers some money, when it should have been done the right way in the first place. Solution, fix the problems and install toll booths, with a higher rate for township residents and soccer moms.
Remember, you can't build them...If you can't flush them... no I vote no sewer expansion anywhere till this traffic situation is addressed for the safety of the community.
