Let's take stock

Let?’s take stock of the track record this election of the NW GOP-ers. Their main man, Elsea, BIG LOSS. Sorry Steve, I voted for you but you picked the wrong race this time. Save your signs and try again in two years. After Fix nearly destroyed your club, you had the guts to step in and save it. For that we can thank you but it is again in Fix?’s hands by proxy. To succeed, you must disassociate yourself with the Shaverettes in Pickerington. Their end will be coming.

The Elsea loss was a one-two punch to the local politicians. Elsea lost but more importantly Patrick Bowen lost. He was the campaign manager. The house of cards is starting to fall. Bowen was behind the Riggs campaign and more recently the Keith Smith campaign. Look what a deal they were for Pickerington. Riggs will be out of a job by the end of the year because, quite simply, Ohio cannot stomach someone like her boss as governor. Too much GOP damage has occurred for any GOP candidate to be viable in November. Way too many devout GOP voters will go with Strickland. Ohio simply cannot stomach the negative campaign venom and blatant hypocrisy that her boss can only seem to produce. So?….What is our dear queen to do? Well, she can?’t rely on Elsea to take care of her through some county welfare case job. She?’ll have another year to wait to attempt to accede to the throne Shaver promised her but fails to ever deliver and that $12K salary won?’t make a dent in her $100K per year salary loss. Her chance for that vanished with the Laura Smith loss. Obviously, besides Shaver not being able to garner more than 4 or 5 votes for judge, no endorsements for judge and not a dime in campaign contributions, let alone not being able to find a sane person to run his campaign, he struck another of his famous political deals with Smith for an appointment to her vacant magistrate seat. Poof!! Gone!!! Now he needs to stay on as mayor to keep his (mental) health benefits package rolling. No magistrate for Davey, no job for Riggs. Now all the Riggs/Bowen machine can hope to do is put together a slate of NW GOP-ers to run together next year to oust Hackworth and Wisniewski. Then they can get back to the profitable ways of Bushman and gang. I presume Elsea will be a candidate on the Riggs slate and probably this Sauer (current NW GOP president) character Shaver shoved onto the Planning Commission.

Farmer ?– where were you? Were you even in this race? Did your club get out and apply all the leg power they claim to be noted for to get your message out? You were a decent president of the NW GOP-ers but were you a decent person? Let?’s review. O?’Brien was your vice-president, right? Well at least for a couple of months before he got appointed to council. You served together as the leadership of this infamous club yet when he needed you the most last year you said what? I think ?“He isn?’t worth the $.37 for the cost of a stamp.?” was your direct quote. Well I hope you don?’t feel as betrayed and abandoned by your pals as O?’Brien must have when he heard you said this. Hopefully your club was out in force in the huge territory you had to cover each and every day going door to door to get your message out.

Let's take stock -part 2

Deborah Smalley pulled off a victory. I am glad for her but have to wonder just how much the NW GOP-ers helped her. Did they do any more than lend their worthy endorsement? Perhaps Smalley was the recipient of the greatest assistance of this club. Perhaps she kept her distance and she won. Same for Tim Schaeffer. I didn?’t see the club rising to the level they could have if they had decent people and decent leadership. You missed your mark NW GOP-ers! Imagine having had a hand in a State Senate victory! That?’s called rising to the next level in case you didn?’t know.

Oh yeah, let?’s not forget Curtiss. Big deal. Her and Anderson election after election. B-O-R-I-N-G. At least Ed Laramee (NW GOP-er) gets to keep his seat of power. Maybe IF she is successful in November, he?’ll have time to retire before the next 4 years comes to an end. I can?’t believe that the County GOP won?’t be able to come up with a decent challenger for Curtiss by then.

This past election

I know Steve and Kyle were working their rear ends off for their spot respectively. I had met Steve's wife at my door once and then I had Kyle at my door once as well as a young man from Farmer's campaign another time.

It sounds to me it was not for a lack of effort on either of their parts, but maybe money and a lack of a name. It is to bad since both would of made great represenatives for this community.
