Split Sessions

I've seen the initial plan if the bond issue went down. Harmon, Diley and Heritage will close as middle schools. Those three schools will become elementary schools (K-4).

The middle school kids (5 &6) will attend Ridgeview and Lakeview Jr Highs on a split schedule with the Jr High kids. Jr High in the morning so there's no conflict with athletics probably from about 7:30 am to about 1:00 pm. A new shift of teachers and kids will arrive at 1:30 and stay until about 7:00 pm. Redistricting will happen every year to balance the load. Bus fleets and costs will have to increase due to the surge load. In 6-8 years, a third shift will be needed at the Jr Highs and a second full shift at each high school. Kids will be in Algebra class during football games on Friday night. Assuming extra cirricular activities continue. We may have to cancel non academics to pay for more buses and teachers.

Have fun.

Another Option

Why couldn't we make Central and North 7-12 grade buildings & put the extra elementary schools at Lakeview & Ridgeview.

The special needs preschool is already at Ridgeview so the transition is started and there is playground equipment.

Face it the only thing this community cares about is sports or extra curriculars - so if we really want these schools to pass it has to be important to everyone.

I think this is a great idea - when is the next Board meeting? It should be suggested!!
