Dear Roadrunner and Coyote -

Don't pay any mind to this fool. It's pretty clear that this is either Mike Sabatino or Teresa ''I Wanna be like Mike'' Meno using PATA to promote their website.

I guess that Mike and Teresa needed to find another ''cause'' to stir up the city against the evil politicians. Their efforts during the Diley Road era worked out in their favor didn't it?

I was comfortable on the fence..

I am one of the people that has mixed feeling about this issue. I definately don't want more houses, but would like to pick the kind of commercial that I want. I also know that's not possible.

This community, if we decide we don't want Big Box, must also then make the leap that we can afford to pay for the schools we want without the help of commercial development. We need to understand that the 60% of the PLSD that is undeveloped will be developed into something - what do we want? More houses = more kids = more needs for the schools.

Vote NO on Issue 3 and you've given the Trustee's the perfect argument to pass the development and be able to sleep at night. The commercial development will provide monies for the schools that the community won't.....

Jack Wittenmeier said it best in the paper - We want it all. I'm definately guilty of that - but the time is coming when I'm going to have to jump off the fence I'm so comfortable sitting on. I have to make a decision about what I want for my children and how it's going to be paid for - whether I'm willing as a tax payer to be part of a bedroom community with a 13% commercial tax base or not.

Finally, An Opinion!

Here's a question - who is leading the opposition to the opposition of big box retailers moving in to Violet Township? Right now, the opponents have united and are leading the conversation. Unless some group gets out there to educate the masses as to why big box retail will be good for the area, and why it has been bad for Hamilton and Brice Roads (Columbus neglects its outlying areas to revitalize downtown, which, by the way, is also failing) the opposition will win.

It's not enough to just have opinions, or even ''work behind the scenes'' telling Trustees privately how you feel. As it currently appears, if the Trustees approve the proposal, it will seem as though they are voting against the will of the people. They need support to make what is now an unpopular decision.

Bob Harding, love him or hate him, had opinions. He wasn't afraid of the public knowing his opinions, and worked to educate the public via this website and the newsletters.

It's not unheard of to have a ''front man'', such as Bob Harding, leading the charge, while an anonymous webmaster provides technical support.

Some friendly advice, take it or leave it - find a ''front man''.
