This is how it works
Everyone, I sat through the meeting last Wed. night, and that is how these things work. You have something prepared by a section of the party that is in control to try and promote people that want to be on Executive Committee and or officer posistions.
Nominations were open on the floor and there were many people nominated. There were contested seats all night long. It was not a ram rod procedure.
People were upset at first, but once they understood how things were working they seemed to settle down. We came to some good conclusions I believe at the end and Dave Smalley offered some good advice at the end to not put out a slate the way they did and rather leave open spots for nominations from the floor and make it a more open process.
I do understand the frustration at first, but once people understood you can nominate people things seemed to work out just fine. Just my two cents and this is how it used to work in Franklin County as well. Although that seemed much worse at times.
