Contrary to popular belief
You, I and every other registered voter is who is in charge of this county. Yes there are 2 significant camps, both filled to the brim with egomaniacs who believe they are running the show and are of some significance but I don't agree.
We went through the Fox era and we saw what that did to the county. Necessary changes have been made but many of the same people are still around and desperately trying to regain some power.
Now we're going through the 'ethical' era with those who believe the holier than thou approach is the way to go. Problem with that approach is that when misdeeds are done, which they almost always are, you come out looking like a huge hypocrite. ie. Ken Blackwell.
Many people are completely disgusted with both camps and are just looking for good people to vote for.
If we don't like the actions of our elected officials then vote them out of office, no matter what camp they come from. We all need to be involved and willing to put our name on the line if we feel that type of change is necessary.
Steve Elsea started out the NW club with the best intentions and accomplished much in its infancy. However other forces came into play and has left the club in shambles with many, many upset members and former-members.
My May votes are towards the best people that I think will do the best for the Republican party: Jim Petro, Tim Schaffer, Gerald Stebelton, Steve Elsea, Barbara Curtiss, Kathy Mowry, Deborah Smalley.
Don't assume I'm completely supportive of this entire list, some are definitely the 'better of these 2 choices' rather than the best person for the job.
Come November I like many other Republicans won't be voting the party line but I'm voting for the best my party has to give in May.
