Clarification

Pam;

Thank you for your response. You seem to know more than most of us about the School Board and its planning process. You answered by saying that the FRC report was only a report and that the school board had no obligation to adopt the report.

Maybe I am not using the correct terminology in my question. The report that I read had numerous references to a Ten Year Master Plan. In fact in the back of their report some of the pages were labeled ?“Master Plan.?”

What I was trying to understand is the decision making process of the Pickerington School Board. It appears by this report that the board passed a resolution in 2004 creating this commission. Although I am a little vague on what the goals of that commission were, it does indicate that they were going to advise the board as to which capital improvements to place on the spring 2005 ballot.

If we break the ten year master plan out of this report can I ask if the Pickerington School Board has adopted this Master Plan?

Has the Pickerington School Board adopted a Master Plan by modifying the FRC report Master Plan?

Has the Pickerington School Board adopted a totally separate Master Plan unrelated to the FRC report?

Thanks

Brian

Thank you for your response. I will probably have additional questions once the local papers circulate again.
I Hope Not

To my knowledge, the school board has not adoped the FRC's recommended ten-year plan. And I hope that don't. If a ten-year plan is needed, the School Board needs to come up with that themselves, taking the FRC report and other recommendations and information into account. To uncritically accept such a commissions's report would, in my view, be for the School Board to abdicate its responsibilities. The School Board is accountable to voters. The FRC is not.

The School Board is accountable to voters. The FRC is not accountable to anyone.
