Dear Yosemite Pam,
I thought long and hard about the posting you made below. I also thought about the article I read in the Dispatch this morning, which I see is pasted below. You may be on to something about a visible renaissance of PATA. It has been insinuated that the media reporters read this site and also insinuated that elected officials and possibly more officials read this site.
Perhaps a rebirth of PATA could be accomplished if a new face was put on it. PATA has a reputation of being rather adversarial. Is that the right word? Maybe antagonistic? I don?’t know but PATA?’s reputation is not an overall reputation of goodwill. Can you see where I am going? I am in no way trying to disparage PATA but maybe more trying to characterize it. PATA?’s goal has always been what is better for the community but their approach is often misunderstood or not appreciated.
The original PATA group, for those I knew, were a bunch of good people, many of whom I am friends with. None of them I know would be willing to be the new face of PATA. Maybe that is where we should start.
?• Let?’s look for a new face for PATA. We need someone who is not or has not been embroiled in controversy.
?• Someone that won?’t be branded a loose cannon by local officials.
?• Someone who has perhaps served the community in some capacity and earned respect.
?• Someone not considered being controversial in their views and actions.
?• Someone willing to put their name to postings.
?• Someone to work with the webmasters to clean up this website and return it to something more than ?“Complaint Central?” (or Complaint North so as not to offend anyone;).
?• Someone literate in all aspects of the community such as city council matters, school board issues and township matters.
?• Someone with no personal or political agenda.
I appreciate your desire to give new life and purpose to PATA. What I think needs a little work is your approach. Let?’s look at baby steps before we try to run.
What do you say Pam? Do you want to try to work together to see if PATA is worth investing in again?
I?’ll leave this signed Anonymous, for now.
