The Lancaster Republican Central Committee has completed their transformation into the former Pickerington City Council.

The public votes out a member of council and that person is then found a new position by his cronies. Too bad it wasn't a council position they restored him too - then it would have been exactly like the Maxey fiasco of a few years ago.

Wonder if the Pickerington Central Committee members will speak out about this injustice since some of them were so outspoken about Maxey being re-appointed.

Let's appoint a croney over an experienced CPA - sounds like a SOLID PLAN for treasurer!

Doesn't sound to me like anything was ''CURE''d in the central committee. The ''Fox''es are still guarding the henhouse - just a new breed of Foxes.

The difference is....

If you ask any of them they will gladly tell you that the difference is between what they do and what the others did is that they are THE GOOD GUYS and the others are THE BAD GUYS.

That is it in a nutshell. They justify all their actions no matter how identical to THE BAD GUYS as being OK because they are THE GOOD GUYS.

Problem is, half the people posting on this site actually swallow that line.

I know Bob Harding is gone and I applaud both his decision to go and the reasons why, but what this community needs is the A NEW BOB. Why isn't anyone willing to take the lead and once again look out for this community? Why isn?’t anyone willing to put their name on the line and post with it? Why isn?’t anyone willing to make PATA active again rather then just a web site that has more garbage then substance? Why isn?’t anyone digging just beneath the surface to document the subtle undertones of what is going on between the city and township or the various Republican factions? All we get are allegations, rumors and gossip.

I had high hopes for Councilman Wisniewski?’s new website but it appears no one but he and one or two others are posting to it and again, other then him, they are anonymous. I had hoped for some hard-hitting looks behind the scenes at the dynamics on intergovernmental associations. He prefers to stick to the feel good news. It?’s his blog and he can do whatever he wants though.

If the former PATA ?“Watchdogs?” are all holding office somewhere, who is watching the watchdogs?

If you have such a desire for someone else to do this then WHY OH WHY don't you pick up the stick and run with it?

I am glad my irony didn't escape you. Since you don't know me and I am not sure I want you to, let me tell you this little tidbit. I have lived in Pickerington over 20 years both in the township and city. My kids were born and raised here and while I still have one entering their senior year, the rest have graduated and moved on. Realizing they are probably much smarter then me, I am following their lead and moving on. I did a stint in public service many years ago and albeit it short and probably unimportant by your standards, I did stick my neck and name out there and tried to be part of the solution and not the problem. It was interesting but not fun. I met Bob at a neighborhood event and what that guy could tell you about all that was going on and how intertwined everything in the city, township and schools were as well as with neighboring communities, well let me tell you, if you met Bob, then you know what I mean. He was, quite frankly, enthralling. Even if some of what he said seemed do outrageous, if you believed half, it was totally captivating. I was interested enough to fund a few newsletters, deliver a few of the first editions but then I sort of left the mainstream because of some of the PATA newbies that I just couldn?’t seem to like or trust.

So, now that my family is raised and I am extremely close to retirement I can do as the kids did and move on. I no longer have any vested interest in the area or the politics. I have seen things in the political arena go full circle and in some cases go full circle more than once. Bad guys, good guys ?– who cares anymore? Those of you staying here for the long-term should care but people like me don?’t.

So if by me posting here with little vested interest in the outcome of this community offends you, you have my sincere apology and promise to stay away. Have you yourself considered being the next Bob or is it just easier to point your finger at others and tell them to do so?
