Never going to happen

Would have to make it through the state. State is concerned this will bring to light further their failure to fix school funding. Assuming it would go anywhere locally, which it won't, it would have to make it past the state where it will die a long painful death.
If You're So Unhappy Here...

If you're so unhappy here, please leave. Move to Groveport where you can be with your own kind.

I moved here for the school district - Pickerington Local School District, not Pickerington City Schools or Violet Township Schools. If a malcontent like you is ever successful in breaking up the school district, I will sue anyone involved personally.

Not everyone is as unhappy as you are, although I bet the only people who will associate with you are. I'm sure the people who are happy with the school district and who feel their kids are getting a quality education here give you a wide berth. They don't want to catch your unhappiness.

Do us all a favor and go away.

Glad to be of Service

My Dear Go away,

You appear to be one of the elitist from the new Violet Township school district. Someone down the page had suggested a City school District and with the boss out of the office I decided to look up the current values of buildings in the district. I couldn?’t find the value of the 61 areas recently purchased by the school board and the 16 acres at the Villages at Sycamore Creek. I would suggest that to you to check your nicotine patch it may be replacement time.

If my memory serves me right I believe you and your zealot friends have tried four maybe five time now to pass a school bond levy to build two elementary schools. Anyway what ever the count is I understand by the papers you are all going to try once more this fall. Big whoop!!! Along comes Jim Brink and suggests adding a middle school to the mix. Someone, anyone am I at least close here?

If anyone who has been a regular reading of this web page over the years all of the grips come out here. If you look closely at the list and I only placed them in their perspective districts based on whether they were currently in the not or outside the city. Ironically the one third tax base being in the city almost worked out give or take a few million.

The first question you all must ask before you throw out the baby with the bath water is a large district needed to have a quality educational system? Clearly the smallest of the two proposed districts would be in the City. Yet at over 3,300 students it would still rank high when compared to other districts in the State. Would dividing the district actually hurt the educational process here?

This community has a huge issue with the trash and the cash and the amount spend on North. Creating separate districts would solve that issue.

For years now the township residents have complained that the City Council was screwing the school district. If you non believers need convincing maybe the boss will be out of the office tomorrow. But anyway this would solve that issue.

It has been suggested that the two entities (Violet Twp and Pickerington) merge and every time that is suggested we hear the big outcry from the Trustees and the unincorporated areas not wanting to pay more in taxes. Splitting the two school districts would allow those complainers to go after those that are causing the growth those that they perceived are sticking it to the schools.

Then this not to mention the redistricting of the students. I know you folks upset most of the parents every year changing which school their kids will attend.

So here is your mission once the bond levy fails this November. Tell the school district voters that you will split the district one district being a Pickerington City school district and other a new Violet Twp district in exchange for separating the voters to stop the feuding. To accommodate the needed classroom space you would need to build the remaining elementary at Sycamore Creek and the other elementary at the 61 acre site out in the township. In addition add either a middle school or a ninth grade school to accommodate the enrollment. I will let one of you experts figure out where to put the kids. The City residents would take on one third of the debt and everyone lives happily ever after.
