You city residents are pretty funny. I found the posting thread debating the Mayor's race for 2007. Don't you people have anything better to do?

Who cares who the next mayor of Pickerington will be? It's not as if they have any say over what goes on anyway.

You?’re right. It is pretty funny.

You?’re right, they don?’t have any say on what goes on. Unfortunately we have found out that they can have influence. We have found out the political paybacks mayors are capable of if they set their mind to it. We have learned about betrayal, retribution, disloyalty, duplicity, misplaced trust and dishonor. We have learned about mental illness, rage and how a person can terrorize and entire staff of civil servants. We have learned that even a position of not having a say can essentially bring progress in a city to a standstill. We have learned how alliances can be formed that are a detriment to all that the person said they originally stood for and still profess to.

We have learned.

That is why we talk about it and worry about it. Those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

public office vs. corporate

How ironic. Everything City Dude has learned about the mayor I learned in the corporate world as well. While it shouldn't happen, and there are supposedly controls in place to insure it doesn't, this stuff goes on all the time.
