Commander In Chief
Seems to me that there was a TV series on not too long ago about a female president that happened to be an independent. She got the office after the sitting president met his demise.
From what I saw, she filled her cabinet with the best people for the particular job rather than by party affliation.
The show got canned. There was a group of people that really hated the show. I had even heard that some believed it was just there to get people used to the idea of Hillary getting in. A person in my office had strong anti opinions about the show without ever having watched it.
I thought that the show was done well and that Donald Sutherland played a good role.
Partisanship will not die as long as people can use the parties for personal gains.
