Ford announced today the elimination of 1/3 of it's work force.

Do you think that this and the latest GM cuts may have a ripple effect on our economy?

It is difficult to vote for a tax increase when the future looks this cloudy.

Think again

I would say that It is difficult NOT to vote for a tax increase when the future looks this cloudy.
Taxes?

It's why I'm glad Honda has invested so much in Ohio - parts and assembly are an amazing boost for us. We're lucky that ''American'' cars (often made in Canada) aren't so vested here.

There is a notable exception - my Odyssey was assembled in Lincoln, Alabama. Not Ohio, still Americans. When you live in a country when the 1991 Ford Crown Victoria LTD was the IMPORT car of the year, it makes you question why anyone worries about ''American metal.''

As for taxes, if we're really concerned about fueling growth, cut payroll taxes and offset with an increase in income taxes. That'll affect many more people. In terms of taxes. As for expenditures - people have to learn to keep the government out of some issues. It isn't the taxing...it's the spending.
