State Law

Every school district in the state of Ohio has to have an open enrollment policy. Dictated by our friends at the State level. If a school has room and from what I hear Central does - the district has to let someone transfer that open enrolls. Doesn't matter if the kid play football or the oboe.
I have been waiting for this

I was waiting for this posting because it always comes. Did a posting on a blog in NYC bring down John Gotti? Nope and it won?’t help here. Don?’t forget the code of silence.

I WILL NOT, under any circumstances, sacrifice my kids?’ enjoyment of athletics in school by ?“fighting the system?”. Neither of them will be professional athletes and I will not do what hundreds of parents in this district do and delude myself on that. My kids wish to participate and I will do my best to assist them in participating at a level they enjoy. If that means paying an extortion fee to the mob then so be it. It only last a couple more years and then I can do what you will ultimately suggest anyway and just move away and be quiet.

One word, one whisper to the wrong parent, one misstep and my kids will be so blacklisted from sports in P-Town that they will not be allowed to toss a football in the back yard. P for Pickerington, P for Politics and a real big P for Payback. That lesson has been taught time and again. Ask some current and former board members about ?“doing the right thing?” or ?“fighting the system?”. For God?’s sake, open your eyes and think. Many have tried ?– none have succeeded.

I will vote no for the financial and political reasons. If you want to call them selfish you are entitled to your opinions and I won?’t try to dissuade you from them. I will do whatever it takes to protect my family just as I assume you would yours. And to help you in that, I wouldn?’t think to comment on your decisions made in doing so.

I can?’t afford the TOTAL cost to pay to play and support any levies. Tell me I am sacrificing the schools; tell me I am making inappropriate payments; tell me I am part of the problem; tell me to go to heck (that?’s for you, Coyote) if you want. But don?’t tell me to screw over my kids?’ last few years in the district. I invite you to be the solution yourself. Perhaps you don?’t have kids in athletics.

My decisions in matters of the school and what they have become are purely financial. Have I said that enough? My wages aren?’t going up but gasoline is. My heat bill is. My health care is. If the bizarre trustees and councilmen have their ways, my income taxes are going up.

My well has runneth dry.
What's the goal here?

My fault, I'm living in the wrong world. I thought our kids went to school for an education. I guess we're a farm team for 'pick your sport' and PLSD is here to train our kids for that pro career.

Sorry, when times are tight ( and they are folks! ) let the participants of sports pick up the freight for the operating costs. The taxpayers have contributed enough for the facilities.

Kids & Athletics

I have kids that are in elementary school but are unable to attend physical education classes because the gym is lodaed with classrooms. They every once in a while get to have them in a portable but are not allowed to jump because it makes to much noise. These kids don't have the option to pay and play. If you are so much for supporting kids and athletics then I would think this would be a good reason to support the bond. After reading through your comments it seems to me that your vision is short sided and me,me,me,me,me.
