NW Club minutes

Worth Noting

It is worth noting that the executive committee comprised of Brian Sauer, Becky Payne, Mike Kuberinski, Gavin Blair, and Ed Laramee decided not to do anything further with Mr. Sauer's words. The reasons stated were to not create division and understand this club has differing view points within its membership. Whether true or not those were the reasons given.

Ted,

Let me begin by saying that nothing in my memorandum was personal and I
am disappointed that you have now made this a personal issue. I will
not argue with you personally Ted. I respect you as a councilman and
though I disagree with your ideas, I will not attack you personally.

I will not debate with you the history of PATA. I'm sure all of our
newsletters are in the city's files somewhere and you can do a public
records request to get copies of all of them. Your assertion that I
only worked on the program for six months is just straight wrong. I too
attended many of the meetings regarding the CEDA years ago and clearly
remember things differently than you do. I'm wondering why you wrote
such a glowing letter to the Township Trustees if you had such
misgivings about this situation. My effort in providing this packet to
council was to provide further documentation to our council members so
that they could get more than one side of the picture.

As for the paper township story, I never made any claim as to how the
story was created, only that the story made it very clear that you were
working on this issue, and that you were quoted many times in the
article. I am adamantly opposed to you on this issue as I think it
would do much greater harm than good to our city.

Thank you once again for bringing up my P&Z statement from well over a
year ago. As background information for those who are not familiar,
Mitch O'Brien was leading the Planning & Zoning Commission to make a
decision that went directly against our code at the time. I urged our
P&Z members not to vote this way and as Mitch continued to push I
''reminded the P&Z members of the oath they took to uphold our charter.''
The way I phrased this was over the line and I subsequently apologized
for this. I still stand on the principal that we were voting against
our own laws, something I still to this day can't fathom. (Don't
believe me? Read the minutes).

As for looking you in the eye and lying to you. Ted I've never done it
and won't do it and I challenge you to show me or any instance of that.
Don't call me a liar Ted. It's not true and it's beneath you. I don't
operate that way. All the conversations we've had about this issue have
been with others present so be careful where you go with this.

Please don't ever challenge me on my duties to the citizens of
Pickerington. I've never challenged you that way. I wholeheartedly
disagree with the direction you are going but never for a minute would
question your desire to do what you perceive to be in the best interests
of our community. I truly believe that working cooperatively with the
Township and other entities is the BEST way for us to grow our
commercial tax base. I am pursuing policies and programs toward that
end. You have a different opinion and I respect that. But I will
continue to push forward with my efforts because I am convinced that
they are moving our city in the right direction.

Ted you and I will be working together on council for at least another
17 months. I would hope that we could work to disagree without being
disagreeable. Mitch couldn't find a way to do that and it cost him a
seat on council. I'd hate to see you suffer the same fate.

Jeffrey Fix

City Councilman,
City of Pickerington

Oh my GOD!!!

I am appalled by these postings. I have been a long time Jeff Fix supporter both in local and county issues. I feel so betrayed. How could he have said one thing to me and his other close supporters all this time but been the complete opposite once he got elected? I have stood by him shoulder to shoulder over and over again during the allegations of preparing to file paperwork to run for council after falsifying residency requirements. I stood by him when he was accused of things that would have broken up his family and marriage probably. He cried on my shoulder and I on his. We poured our hearts and souls out to each other. I stood by him through thick and thin and now I see in his own words that all the things people said about him were true and I was blinded by loyalty.

What could possibly be so important that to be a councilman in this city that you would risk your reputation, your marriage, your friends, your integrity and your honor? Is it power? Is it ego? Is it money? What is it???

What also worried me is that since I trusted Jeff, I trusted people who he said I could trust. Am I to learn the same betrayal in these others I learned with him? Was he taking advantage of me because I am a woman? Were his intentions less than honorable? Should I now question the other people in the club that I thought were loyal and rethink those that left us in a new light? Can I ever look the trustees in the eye again and not wretch? Can I look at the county officials I hold in high regard and now hate them because if Jeff told me they are OK, then they must be like him? How far does his poison spread? How deep are the lies?

Whoever is posting these emails, please keep doing so. It is important that any others like me who have followed Jeff so blindly read these messages and learn the truth.
