Mayor encourages civility
Mayor David Shaver told council he is ?“concerned about the level of discourse?” taking place in e-mails between council members.
?“I ask that everyone treat one another with civility and dignity,?” said Shaver.
He also asked council to consider formulating a policy to address council members?’ use of city staff. Shaver said council members?’ requests for the use of staff should go through the city manager.
Here is the pot calling the kettle black. How about leading by example Dave? I read some of the emails that were requested through public records requests earlier this year and I have to say that you lacked any civility and dignity in those emails. I suspect that the recent amount of public records requests by the media and some councilmen must be of concern to you as it will not only show the contempt between factions that you created but also between the city and township elected officials. I also hear in this recent public information request that some councilmen stooped to threatening other councilmen with their jobs. They cited former councilmen as having suffered their fate due to not playing ball with your pets. Shame on you. You sir, are beneath contempt in letting the ?“team?” come to what it has.
The city and township talk and talk and talk. Don?’t you see what the problem in all this is?
