Let me address each of you Pickerington Republicans individually by name:
Members of NW Republican Club
Shaver
Riggs
Fix
Smith
Hackworth
Wisniewski
Members of Pickerington Area Republican Club
Sabatino
Non-affiliated Republicans
Hammond
Shame on all of you. I have been away from this site because of the low level it sank to but visited this morning and was appalled at something I read.
Someone posted what I presume to be a legitimate copy of an email sent by Fix to Hackworth and possibly others. In it he appears to openly state that he violated State Law. What have you done about this and what are you doing now?
I am a lifelong Republican and was proud o it until today. I always supported the party from the local to the national level. All this is over now. I was shaken by the corruption of national Republicans, State Republicans but now this corruption has bled into local offices.
Readers, let me tell you about some of these stellar Republicans above who are choosing to do nothing about the law breakers in their midst.
Shaver is a lawyer in this state and contemplated running for county judge. How can he swear to uphold the law, aspire to judge the law and condone breaking the law among his own?
Riggs works for the Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell. She sits idly by while her local associates blatantly break the law. Is this representative of her and those whose employ she is in? Is she violating the trust of local residents or all state residents?
Sabatino was a participating attendee of the subject meeting where the law was broken. Is he voluntarily filing a report with the Ethics Commission?
Hammond, your husband serves on the Executive Committee of the County Party. How can you dishonor him and his office with support of law breakers like you are?
Wisniewski, you are president of council. Don?’t you feel duty bound to make a report of this law breaking and seek resolution before the entire elected body of this city suffers the repercussions of hiding the truth?
This NW Republican Club was supposedly founded on Ethics and Integrity. Where are those principles now? The Pickerington Area Republican Club values ethics and integrity in their own way, too, even if you disagree with them. Are your values subjective?
I am disgusted by each and every one of you whether you are the law breakers or those harboring these fugitives. I will no longer affiliate myself with the Republican Party. You have vilified it at the grass roots level.
You all should be ashamed for what you are allowing to happen and your families and especially your children should be ashamed of you as well.

Is Hackworth and Wisniewski members of that NW club?

Say the same to council
Anonymous
You should be outraged by what is going on here. An inquiring was filed on the meeting between Sabatino, Fix and Hackworth. The problem with that one Fix and Sabatino serve on the Safety committee together and they also formed a majority of that committee. The meeting you refer to was not a majority of council. I think since Safety committee business was not talked about they did not violate the sunshine laws.
I believe if you read Brian Wisniewski's web site you will find that he is very concerned about what has been going on in these meetings. However as reported in one of the emails posted here and the This Week newspaper yesterday Mr. Fix claims to have his 4 votes to pass his agreement with the township. He also states in the email that he met with every member of council. However email are exempt for round robin meetings and the open meetings law. With that said he did meet with the four members and he got a consensus of those four votes.
There is two parts now. One the issues being discussed and then the process of how the legislation was put together. So I gather that the four that agree on this Jeff Fix ordinance are Jeff Fix, Cristie Hammond, Keith Smith and Heidi Riggs.
These four that seem to be opposed to the ordinance are Brian Wisniewski, Ted Hackworth and Mike Sabatino. I believe a motion has been made or will be made to hire an outside counsel to investigate charges of a violation of the open meetings laws. However keep in mind that unless 5 members agree to the outside investigator then council will go no where on this. Currently it appears that there only 3 members of council are willing to pursue the investigation and if they could get one more and only one more then the Mayor could veto it.
As for the NW club and the Republicans in general. I believe if you look closely Wisniewski and Hackworth resigned in disgust last year. In fact a lot of the original members have resigned in the last couple of years. Most of this has come about under the leadership of Jeff Fix and his hand picked replacement Brian Sauer. If you read the minutes of July 27th, the NW club meeting they are preparing to challenge Hackworth and Wisniewski next year for their re-election.
The active members of the club that are on council are Jeff Fix, Mayor Shaver, Heidi Riggs, and Keith Smith. I understand that Mrs. Hammond's husband is a member also.
I am not aware of if Mr.Sabatino is still a member of the Pickerington area Republican club.
I think you will find that Brian Sauer is closely involved in this mess and he is the Mayor's appointee to P & Z and they Rules committee is appointing Steve Elsea to the Utilities commission as another one of those in that club that preach ethics but that is all they do.
I am told that Heidi Riggs is no longer President of Council because she solicited campaign contribution for Ken Blackwell and miraculously those contributors got city contracts. I think she also wanted to fire the police chief because he would not fix a ticket for her kid.
I think if you look closely to the four (Shaver, Fix, Smith and Riggs) now running things they follow the policy of do as I say not as I do.

Thank you
Finally a second source that sees the light. I also think O'Brien, who like Hackworth was a founding member and former Vice President, resigned in disgust over their demands for him to sell his soul to them and Fix just to win a council seat. He apparently also saw the light and distanced himself from people with no integrity, morals or ethics. I guess he wanted to not be deemed guilty by association. Good for him. Like someone else said, sometimes you have to lose an election to win.
