Help me out here. How do you get that ordinance about the agreement with the township on the ballot? Is that a referendum? Do you know how we go about doing that? Do we circulate a petition?

Since I have read a lot about the different issues between the City and the Township and the township is wanting to stop the city from any more annexations wouldn't it be just as easy to run another petition to remove the city from the township boundaries? What that be called an initiative?

Does anyone know the name of an attorney that does that kind of work? Maybe we just kill two birds with one stone. Get rid of the township all together.

I will call around. Does anyone know if Rick Ricketts does that kind of law?

Law Director

Any citizen of Pickerington can initiate a referendum. The citizen also has the right to have OUR Law Director look it over for legality. I am remembering that by law they are required to offer advice, spell check, grammar etc..?

I think this would be an excellent time to test that law.
Test for the Mayor

Let's see what the Mayor decides to do about this issue. If he is smart (which I doubt) he'll at least make an attempt to put some water on this fire and suggest a referendum in order to get this issue on the ballot. Heck, the really smart move would be to have the law director look into this himself. However he could also decide to maintain this idiotic approach that he has undertaken so far then he'll do nothing except continue to support his appointee, Mr Fix.

Now fast forward to November 2007. Should the Mayor back off his current stance of support for this ''agreement'' with township, he may stand a chance at winning re-election. If he doesn't, he can kiss another term goodbye. Either way, I'm convinced that I win next year. He just gets to choose whether I win by a little or by a landslide. It really doesn't matter to me, I win regardless.
