Economic Sacrifices

Posted in: PATA
It appears the webmaster posted the latest proposed agreement between the city and township in the our PDFs section.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between this and the one Brian W has posted on his blog? Did we throw in sacrificial virgins to sweeten the deal for the township?
Trust has to begin somewhere

Try and see both sides in this argument. Trust has to begin somewhere. Why not trust Jeff Fix? Why not trust Gary Wetlick? Jeff ran an unsuccessful campaign for trustee several years ago financed primarily by Gary. They have a history together. Obviously if Gary financed the campaign, there was a bond there that remains through today. Perhaps that bond is this agreement.

If you can?’t trust these guys who can you trust? Should it be the mayor negotiating the deal? I mean somewhere back in time he screamed at someone saying it was his, and only his job to make policy for the city. Since this is, in effect, policy, maybe Dave should be involved. Plus he is a lawyer and a darned good one I?’ll bet. He negotiates agreements all the time. Maybe Heidi should be negotiating the agreement with the township. Didn?’t she tell us at a fundraiser last summer for Mr. Blackwell that she negotiated the Information Technology contract for the Secretary of State?’s office? That?’s pretty huge; why isn?’t she negotiating this sweet deal for our community? Didn?’t Keith Smith say when he came to your door last year that part of his job is negotiating contracts for Columbia Gas? That?’s what his campaign guy going door to door for him told me and the missus.

I guess what I am trying to say is that we have many skilled negotiators to pick from to represent our city during these arduous sessions with the township. Personally I trust Jeff and Gary and know they will assure equality for all when this is said and done. But it people on this website and other councilmen don?’t trust Jeff, well, we have Dave, Heidi and Keith right at hand to step in and take over for the city. Maybe more people can trust them.

Where's the Map?

8-28-2001
July-August 2001 PATA Newsletter (maps posted on ''Our Pages''

Old time residents will remember past situations where either water or sewer availability limited or slowed the rate of residential construction. Much has happen since those earlier limiting factors and the results, in part, are now a traffic congested commute, a still overcrowded school system with more and more and more to come. Through all of this we still have no business park ?– and the broaden tax base that this community so desperately needs.

The maps listed within this newsletter best illustrate our past ?– and at this moment ?– our current direction toward the future. Should you require a larger version of these maps they are available by contacting PATA. We will also post these maps on our web site for wider availability.

Since December of 1999 I have been working as the Editor of the PATA newsletter. The July/August issue will be my last as I am devoting my time to run for the office of Violet Township Trustee. I look forward to campaigning this fall, and to earning your support for this election. I would like to thank all of our readers who have offered support and words of encouragement over the past nine months, and encourage all of the PATA membership to continue the tremendous efforts to bring important issues to the attention of the citizens of our great community.
--Jeff Fix

Jeff was finally elected as a Violet Township Trustee last year but apparently ended up at 100 Lockville Road on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Could someone tell Jeff he is not a trustee? Other times he is having lunch with Gary Weltlich and David Shaver to plot how they can go on to a higher office. If you read Councilman Wisniewski?’s posting of Jeff Fix?’s reasons why we need this agreement between the City and the Township he is giving the exact same reasons that he did when ran for Violet Township Trustee in 2001.
