You're on the right track
There are two commissioner seats coming up. One for Lee/Berry and one for Fix/Fox. Fix has ties to Brian Fox that neither can, or have tried to deny. It's all just one big happy family of snake oil salesmen. Ask Craig Maxey. He can verify all this.
Only 10% of the voters in the county are in the city of Pickerington. That leaves 90% of the voters to have to deal with. If you can march down 33 with an economic agreement sales pitch, no matter who got screwed by it, and sell it to the areas near the bypass, you have a platform. Berry is buying up land left and right along the bypass and getting it rezoned. The Lancaster economy is so hungry for new dollars that these slicksters will have a cakewalk.
All you have to do is sell your economic success story to 51% of the remaining 90% of the voters in the county.
Pickerington is merely a stepping stone to these salesmen. It?’s people like Ted, Brian and yes, even Sabatino who will be left behind to face the city residents and tell them that they have to raise revenues and cut costs year and year again.
It?’s people like you and me who will suffer but there is something we can do. Jeff Fix has stated in writing in his own words posted on this site and others that he has the votes necessary to move this from any committee and move it through council. It is a foregone conclusion. We have the right to file a referendum against the economic agreement. Thanks to a former councilman we also have the right to have the city law director validate that the petition is correct and complete.
We can take this to the ballot in November 07. We can show this council like we did a former council with Issues 17, 18, and 19 that we will no longer tolerate the way they are doing business. At least those councilmen and mayor had the dignity to resign or not seek election after the 70-80% vote of no confidence against them.
One can only hope that we learned our lessons from the past and we won?’t let as much damage to the city occur before we are spurred into action. The time to act again is here. Don?’t wait until we regress so deeply into the dark ages of the past.
