The city has everything to lose if the Township partners with Canal Carol or Lithopolis...OR the city can go back to the annex at all costs process that Bushman and Gray initiated...and that we are all still paying for big time.
If they partner with somebody else, I think we have a rats chance in hell in getting any revenue from that area near 33. Remember utilites are already in the ground there, so they do not need you for that South of Busey do they.
So my question is...are you losing an opportunity here Pickerington...or is this just some big personal and conspiracy contest that everyone makes it out to be?

You are a quick change artist I see.
This doesn't tie the trustees to anything. If someone else tries to annex, this agreement won't stop that. If the land owner sells to a home builder they can't stop the new owner from building homes.
Then ''after expenses'' what does that mean? If he city invests in a losing development then who picks up the loss?
I think this is much more that egos gone wrong.
So Jeff what other points were you trying to make.

not Jeff
There are those who know my handle and they can also know that I am not Jeff Fix, just a person who sees a different aspect of the arguement than one side or the other.
Sure others can annex into this agreement area, if landowners want them too, and I did not say the ''no annexation part'' of this agreement should remain in the agreement at all, if the city has heartburn about this, probably rightly so, then perhaps the township should really show some trust here and take it out and proceed without it.
You are all jumping to judgements about who and how, you are just as bad as Fix pushing an agreement with flaws, acting on the belief that it is this way or no way.
I believe that is not true, and that intelligent people can work this out, maybe it will not be the people who are working on this now....a I also believe when the finger pointing stops, maybe you can all get down to business.

A Storm brewing
closet philosopher or not Jeff??
I think if you read carefully the papers and the cartoon this morning in the South East Messenger it tells the full story.
I want to also direct you to some pages on this web site and ask that you do some research there. A few years ago there was a group formed called CommUNITY First. It started out great and then fizzled. They posted regularly on this web site and I am sure you will find more than enough background on them that gets us to the current proposed agreement.
I had a complaint about the previous administrations in that they would isolate themselves within their own little world. Once the pressure started to mount from outside groups they took cover in their bunker at 100 Lockville and the siege continued until they were ALL removed from office.
So the question here is was the former administrations corrupt with EVERYTHING that they did and said or do some of us believe that they did have it right in some areas or maybe some where in the middle of all of this?
I believe that people like Lee Gray, Randy Hughes and Lou Postage all wanted to do good for the community. Sometimes power and holding office becomes intoxicating and those office holders become very detached from the very people that elected them into office. Many office holders quickly take on the ''Parker Doctrine'' and do as they please. Some adopt the doctrine sooner than others.
What we see here is 3 fairly new (10 months in office) members of City Council willing to go along without question with a document that may have not been fully thought out. Are these new people corrupt? I doubt it. Are they naive? MOST DEFINITELY!!
How can they think it is a good thing to lock up this city and future councils for 30 years?
How can they allow the township to have the ability to check off on all annexations?
How can they give away half of the City income of future development and then ask for a income tax increase to support safety services?
I believe Mr. Fix ''THINKS'' he is doing the right thing. However what gives him the qualifications to commit the City taxpayers in this agreement. Has he considered all of the potential issues that WILL be affected by this agreement? Has he ran any kind of study to predict or forecast future revenues streams? He hasn't!!!!
What is very sad is that the Mayor has bought into this campaign to get the agreement signed with the township despite Terry Dunlap comments in the paper that there was no hurry or time frame set. Was Terry making statements to paper just to make him look good?
I am sure that there will be attempts to amend this agreement. The key will be how open are the Trustees, Jeff Fix and the Mayor to any changes. If they hold to there position ''I don't need your three votes'' policy they will find a crap storm blowing through this city.
