Do we need a civic association?

Please mind your own business

No disrespect intended but we city people need you township folks to mind your own business. None of us outside city council could believe that any of you care about what is about to happen to us when all the good old boys and girls sign this agreement.

We'll be bankrupt in 10 years and have to listen to all of you laughing at us saying ''You should have never signed that darned agreement.''

Please, if you insist on unity, please try to get the trustees, school and city together and leave us alone while we try to get our houses ready to sell and get out of here before we can't give our houses away.

Also, since you seem to have some inside knowledge about what goes on around here, why don't you try explaining to that thick-headed school board the ramifications to them when this agreement is inked. I am sure they'll be surprised.
Please enlighten us

As a person that pays city income taxes but lives in Violet I am very interested in what is going to happen when this gets inked. Please enlighten us on what it means for the school district. I have not been able to figure that out.
An answer

I am not trying to speak for the other poster but what I see happening is that if the agreement is signed and the city gives away so much income to the trustless trustees we will be insolvent in 10 years max.

Once the city is bankrupt we won't be able to give our houses away so this will be a ghost town and the schools will suffer. The school district HAS to grow to remain healthy. It doesn't have to grow at the rate of a school a year but it does have to grow. Just like the city. It has to grow and it is in the best financial shape when it grows at a manageable rate. The 03-05 council put measures in place to control growth and now this council is throwing all that away to be friendly with the trustees.

When the city dies so will the schools. God save us all.
Bankrupt

If you haven't looked at the City of Pickerington's financial status at the present time, you had better check. The City is now in debt to the tune of around $28,000,000 give or take a few million. Do not understand how/why you feel an agreement with the Township could damage that position when the City is already on the sliding board. If you don't believe this, just check the current figures with Ms. Fersch.
