Reap, no whining here. As you sit on your brains the rest of us try to use this site as intended. I was posting an issue you were probably unaware of, the svc. committee bringing foward the skewed agreement. I guess if you were aware of it coming out of service you would have posted the important info here, but then that would have been using the site as intended. not your style. Your jump to conclusion that i voted for these people is wrong. I only supported 3 of the council people currently serving and two of them feel the agreement is flawed. And regarding Councilperson Riggs, you would think she'd be cautious, not reckless. If she is losing her job and health care with the state then her health care from the city might be more important now. Lastly, when i refered to we, i was refering to our community. Whether it was you or i, city or township residents, whoever helped get people elected doesn't matter. What matters is undoing a wrong that is about to happen. And to spent more money, your assessment is right on. The agreement will bring Walmart back into play. What a shame. It took time, but the township leadership was able to get its willing participants on the cities payroll... Mayor , Manager, and a majority of council. |

You lost me with your using this site as intended speech. I am well aware of what went on in the service committee meeting. I was just trying to point out with my ?“You elected?” statement that enough voters believed the campaign crap spewed by the offending councilmen that they need to take their medicine. As you well know, this site has a preponderance of Monday Morning Quarterbacks. How many times have we heard ?“Elect Billy-Bob?” and then when he gets elected he gets shredded here? Riggs is irrelevant to me. I hope she never gets a job. I can?’t imagine her matchbook cover college degree will carry her too far anyway unless she returns to her corner on East Main. I suspect she is already claiming to be a lifelong Democrat to brown nose her way into a new job but who cares? Maybe a new job will take her out of Pickerington for good. I, you, we?… Who cares? I am sick of petitions and fighting city hall. I am sick of someone coming to my door to get me to sign this or that only to have it rejected for capitalization errors. I am sick of signing and voting for this only to have the same people come to my door a couple of years later and say ?“Oops, we messed up. Sign this and we can fix it.?” This city council proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that it is easier to simply move than stay and fight. The rewards for leaving greatly outweigh the suffering to stay. Wal-Mart, you say? How perceptive. Glad you all are starting to see the bigger ramifications of this agreement/sell-out. Here?’s the difference. I hear that the township will be magnanimous in the annexations restrictions in the agreement. I hear they will let the city annex the land where Wal-Mart will be. Three reasons. First, the city will then be stuck with the infrastructure improvement costs which the township will mandate. Second, the development will be passed to the City P&Z instead of the Township P&Z. It gets them off the hook. Third, they get half or more of the income taxes anyway for doing nothing in return. Now the city P&Z has had a Fix minion placed on it by Shaver and there is still a little mentioned Fox appointment sitting there. I heard the other day that Tory Kramer resigned so there is a vacancy where they can make another plant. That makes three Fix-ites. Certainly by the time the issues coming to P&Z get there, they can do whatever they did to Kramer to get just one more to quit and then they have a majority on P&Z. The final chapter to all city development being controlled and/or approved by the township will have been written. So pal, get off your high horse. The people like you claim to be that got all these current people in office and are now betrayed will give up the fight. You won?’t have anyone left to fight city hall or more correctly, the building depicted in the political cartoon posted on this site. It will take years and years and some Harding clone to come out of the woodwork to try to take the city back. However, there is not enough time and no clones out there so?…. BYE-BYE PICKERINGTON and welcome to the CITY OF VIOLET! By Reap and Spent, I guess |
