Since Fix and Weltlich have passed their first reading, I'll bet there's some high fivin' going on behind closed doors. So let's open one of those doors,Councilpersons Riggs, Hammond or Smith.
At your service committee meeting, ask the manager, if she doesn't forget, to ask the township for 50% of the legal fees we Pickerington folk paid for this document. Remember she forgot to invite the township to the economic agreement work session. Wait a minute, let's ask for more, 60% because the township has more kids in the schools than the city does. (That's why North High is division 1 and Central is only division 2.)This is for the schools and the children, isn't it?. Oh wait, let's ask for 70% of the legal fees because the city (we Pickerington folk) will be on the hook for the money borrowed for roads, etc. That's only fair. Hold on a second, the city is the only one to have been collecting income tax for the last 30 years from it's residents and businesses and now the township wants to hand pick the businesses where they'll let the city keep half of that tax we city folk have enjoyed paying all these years. We are the ones paying for the tax department employees for all these years. Maybe then you should ask 80%.
I could go on and on, but this is called ne-go-ti-a-ting. Why not a realistic share for us commoners?
Would somebody on the majority side of this issue at least pretend like you give a crap about the people you were elected to represent and ask for it in writing in advance of the next vote to get some of MY legal back? I won't ask Shaver or Fix. It's clear they were elected to represent the township.
