What's the deal here?

New fire trucks coming our way

You have hit the nail on the head. You folks in the township have always believed you OWN the fire department outright. The fact is the City residents own around 40% of the fire department but have no representation in the operation of that fire department. So when we take the entire lockville station you will still owes the about 24% of the Refugee road station. We paid for it we own it. We are very willing to take extra EMS vehicles or cash if you have it. I am sure you could borrow the money if you come up short.

At least when the City has its own fire department they will have city representatives over seeing the operation and if they object to that they can vote new ones in. We have been stuck with the whining township turstees that we can't seem to rid ourselves from because under the current system we are all collectively in the minority here in the city with limited powers to remove elected representative that fail to look out for the best interests of the city. Forming our own paper township will solve that and soon.
Where did got a copy you read?

I can answer all of you questions, but you didn't answer my first one. Where did you get the copy you read? I really don't like to converse with sound biters.

First, all the township has to do is approve the annexation???? The land never leaves the township! Why do they even have a say so? The city has enacted legislation that the township keeps their precious 1.5 mil bridge and road levy plus they don't even have to take care of the #@*#+*# roads afterwards! Good gosh, please toss the tea in the harbor! What about the new annexation law the trustees pushed? Did it actually give property owners rights and that scares the trustees? Apparently a single owner annexation in Violet is nobody's business unless Weltlich/Dunlap says its so. See how stupid the agreement getting already. Now for the knock out punch. When was the last time the trustees did not stand in the way of a PICKERINGTON annexation. Not a Canal annexation, but Pickerington's. Lastly, this agreement is so unconstitutional to existing law and property owners, it's only going to wind up in court at the cost of City Taxpayers! Yippee! SZD cashes in again!

Regarding the commercial. Let's just say the city gets landlocked by this futuristic thinking agreement due to the annexation requirements. Potentially, land at 33 that the City will commit and spent big bucks on, and may not recoupe the costs of infrstructure improvements before the agreement ends or is cancelled or new politicians meddle. Since the land is no longer contiguous, the city will Not be able to annex this land but will still be left holding the baggage. Enter SZD again. Ca-ching!

One other thing. I understand that Violet is not using their economc development director any more. I hear he's invloved financially in 90+ acres at 33. And his partner/former partner is still Canal's econic development director. And Fix's e-mails with Canal are coming to light. Why don't these people we pay or have paid let us in so we don't have to speculate. Where there's smoke...

Brian W. is right about one thing. He's been invloved with multi-multi-multi million dollar agreements and the agreements must be well crafted, well planned, and well thought out. This one is not.

Lastly, Lancaster wants us land locked. I never believed it, but I do now.

I think you are

Hey just to really mix it up...I think you are all missing one big thing...Everyone is looking South for the development land.

If you remember, one of the reasons Big Box was opposed up by North High School is because the Township and County could not afford to build roads to support it, in fact this was one of the MAJOR REASONS Fairfield County Regional Planning did not support this development... never mind all of the valid NIMBY arguements from all over the place nearby.

Well, with this agreement hey they can get the city to foot the bill for the roads can't they? And who do you think has big pockets to fund such actions by elected officials? The Mayor of Canal? Oh Yeah. You are missing who is really behind all this as you know most of the trustes favored Big Box, no matter what.

Think about it, somebody has already been here wanting to develop but went away...did they really..or are you going to believe that Fix is speculating on some '' future'' development down the road. Hey the cash cow has already been here, and hey they would allow the city to annex because then all of the township NIMBYS would not have a say in the vote to approve the big box by an emergency in city council would they!
