The Why...
I read this site but I use my own site for posting when I have time. Why don't I post here is a valid question that I'll answer here.
1. Lot's of accusations, personal attacks and negativity that I don't agree with. Some directed at me and some at my opponets. One day I'm the hero, the next, the devil. I always enjoy the postings where someone thinks I'm the one posting something anonymously. There are some great posts out here that make me think but there are also some horrible ones.
I understand the frustration, I just choose to release mine differently.
2. I can edit postings on my own site, start a thought, come back to it, keep it in draft form while I research, etc.
3. Technology. I'm a techie at heart. For what it's worth I'm not a ''programmer'' as I've been labeled recently in an attempt to discredit my true profession and that of others in the technology field, but I digress. This site is pretty far behind technology wise and it kills me to try and write anything of substance out here.
4. Control. It's all about control isn't it? :-) I just like having the ability to control my own site. I'm not limited to 600 words, postings that fall off the edge of the world, etc. I can choose not to release a posting if someone is making derogatory remarks about someone that I find offensive.
Someone out here on PATA can mark themselves as anyone, where on my site I would first verify if something was posted as David Shaver or Jeff or whomever.
So that's the nutshell version of why I don't post out here.
And someone is correct about one thing - I will not be council president next year. 2-3 months ago as I was leaving a meeting I told Keith and Cristie I had no intention of running again for council president. I also made it crystal clear who I would not support and would valiantly fight against.
I also just posted on my site the truth behind the Staff version of the economic agreement in case you're interested.
