Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

Enough?

Posted in: PATA
How many signatures are needed and what is the deadline? Will they get enough and in time?

I have not had the knock on my door yet, but am planning on stopping in at the meeting tomorrow night in order to sign a petition if one is available.

Waiting for the knock on my door

Let me get this straight. We have the gang of four that is now the gang of two and a half? I campaigned for this group and now I am faced with deciding what are they all doing. For those that don?’t remember David Shaver, Heidi Riggs, Brian Wisniewski, and Ted Hackworth all ran as a group in 2003. Today they are locked in a battle with each other over an agreement with the township. I believe they are running a referendum to allow the voters to decide what the city should and shouldn?’t give away to the township for noting in return.

After reading Brian Wisniewski?’s web site I am coming down on Ted and Brian's side of this argument.

Giving the city?’s tax dollars away to the developers is no different now than giving those same tax dollars away to the trustees. I am very concerned that local Republican politics has entered into this and those on the Council majority have ignored the City Manager and the new Development Director's proposed agreement. I don?’t care how damn smart Jeff Fix perceives himself to be, he still doesn?’t have the experience in these kinds of negotiations to understand ALL of the issues when giving away the future of Pickerington. Then when he gets most of his campaign money for those that live outside of Pickerington I have a tough time believing that he is more worried about the City Taxpayers over the interests of those that live in the Township.

My second concern about elected officials is that roll the Township trustees are playing in all of this. It sounds like Gary Weltilich is playing Jeff Fix like a cheap French Horn.

If Mr. Fix wants to be a township trustee why doesn?’t he run again this year for trustee? He had his chance last fall but allowed his friends Terry and Harry to run unopposed.

I have sent a message to the web posted above and I will sign and vote for these measures.
