Very Entertaining
Your email was fun to read. I laughed out loud when reading your typical day. I beleive that the board chose a time that they felt would be best for working people. Too bad it did not work out for you. Maybe next time they will choose a time that works with your busy schedule. I do have one beef with your post though. It sounds to me like your more interested in telling everyone how busy you are and hearing yourself talk (because you are going to wow everyone with your recruiting advice) then really wanting to get involved and make a difference. Cathy....PuhLease
Cathy, This is the tripe we have come to expect from you. Apparently you hadn't checked this forum yet today until Lisa made her posting insulting a voter and called you to tell you she set them straight, damn it. What hours do you think constitute a ?“normal?” workday? Most people I know work 9-5. For the few who live and work here, 6:00 might work but for the many thousands who work outside this little burg, getting off work at 5 and assuring you can be anywhere here by 6 except the child care center, maybe, is a stretch. I assume you don?’t work outside the home or you work locally or you just drive your Hummer to soccer practice and back, I don?’t know, but for the underprivileged thousands who make up the voting bloc in the district, WE WORK. And I also disagree with your premise that the original poster cared more about describing her day than adding meat to the posting. I think she was succinct, at least when comparing her day to many I have. I am sorry you can?’t relate. I work in downtown Columbus until 5. I can?’t even get to my car in the lot until 5:30 at best and then I get to enjoy another half to full hour on I-70 before I get to the Hill Road stop and go. I live in Simsbury, so if you know where that is you realize I live as far from the freeway as is possible in Pickerington. Unless there were no other cars on 70, no other cars on 256 and all the traffic lights were green then I might be able to make a 6:00 meeting at the schools. Oh, by the way, I am a willing partner in the running of my household. Meals, laundry, homework and the rest of the stuff that your nanny or maid takes care of is mostly a 50/50 split between my and my wife. That?’s what partners do. So many of our days are like hers or even more entertaining. Cathy, I assume you will be taking a page from all the advice you offer freely in this forum and expect to see your name on the ballot for the board this fall getting involved and making a difference. I look forward to hearing what you and Reade have to say for yourselves. Perhaps then we will all be able to join you in laughing out loud. Perhaps you both will be a little surprised by the election results. Only time will tell. |
