Enough of Yosemite Pam

Posted in: PATA
I am tired of the constant droning of this Yosemite Pam and her continued barrage of Rodney King postings. I am reminded of the incessant Uher monologues which were as baseless as what Pammy is posting.

Let?’s face facts here. There is no analysis to support the economic agreement. None, end of story, End of discussion. The agreement has been called smoke, a pig in a poke, a parlor trick and much, much more. It is something you simply can?’t get your hands on.

We have our pathetic leadership in this city casting votes for perhaps the single biggest piece of legislation in this city since the vote to become a city and they have not a single piece or shred of data analysis to support or oppose their decision.

My support for the minority is waning, too. At least they had the courage to stick to their convictions to serve and protects the city and not the township, but they should all abstain from further votes unless they are given a sound analysis to support or oppose the agreement.

They have as little information to vote no as those voting yes.

Give me a break.

The name's Pam, my man (or woman), and them's fightin' words. Please do not mistake me for that other guy.

Haven't made up my mind about this here Master Economic Development approach. But I do see the problem it's meant to solve.

The city needs more non-retail commercial property in its tax base, but has nowhere left to put it. The good land's all in the township.

The city needs access to that land, and there's just three ways to get it: annexation, a joint development agreement with the township, or merger with the township. Please let me know if you and yours can think of another.

My personal preference is merger, but I think a joint development agreement is better than having the city annex its way to US 33. Still, I have some questions and concerns about the particular agreement that's now sittin' in our corral.

But I'm not ready to man the barracades, draw my six guns, or even carry a banner against it. Hard as it may seem to believe, I still prefer diplomacy to outright war. We've still got a lot of talkin' to do, and most people still seem willin' to listen, and have somethin' useful to say.

Sorry you ain't.

Failure to answer

Why do you continue to evade the question you have been asked?

On what financial/fiscal/fiduciary data do you base your support of ANY agreement?

I want to see it so there is something more than ''trust me'' to form an informed opinion.

That is why this thing has been beat to death and even the media is sick of reporting it.

''Trust me..'', ''He said...'', ''She said...'' is ALL this is based on.

Pam, wouldn't you rather see a comprehensive study done by a joint effort of the city and township using a nationally reputed firm to analyze the situation and make a recommendation alond with a sustainable ordinance for actual, real, and productive negotiaitons to start?
Agreed

When will you folks realize that I am not supporting Jeff Fix's proposed joint economic development agreement?

I would prefer some such agreement to nothing, but I think our best course likely would be a merger.

However, I also agree that the devil's in the details, and would especially like to see a comprehensive, nonpartisan, objective study, guided by reputable consultants, of the alternatives, with all three of them -- go it alone, joint agreement, and merger -- on the table.

We need to do that, no matter what course we decide to take.
