Let me make sure I've got this right. The city can't annex and Canal is free to annex in our school district? The trustees fought the city and let Canal have their way with us? The trustees fought Lithopolis on behalf of Canal. Violet supporters on Pickerington city council blocking the city and Violet Trustees supporting Canal. Pickerington is on it's way to being landlocked. Thank you so very much council majority! Hey Councilman Smith, thanks for helping us seniors with this agreement and insuring a higher income tax. Can i have my vote back?

How to Avoid being Landlocked
There is one sure way to keep the city from being landlocked, and to stave off forever other marauding municipalities: the city and township need to merge.
Not only would that keep Columbus, Canal and Reynoldsburg permanently at bay, but it would also enable us to annex land (e.g., along US 33 or Interstate 70) in neighboring townships for commercial development, and thus for broadening our tax base and lowering our tax rates.
Neither a ''go it alone approach,'' nor a joint economic development agreement with the township, would offer those advantages.
