Enough Valid Signatures

Posted in: PATA
Word has it, there's enough valid signatures on the referendum petition with plenty to spare. Guess the ball is in the Trustees and Council's hands now.
Now it's time

Now it's time for the trustees to reject the agreement for some little grammatical glitch and then the 4 stooges can repeal it, annul the referendum and pass a new agreement to see if we'll start the whole thing over again.

Question is - who will wear down the other first? My guess is Fix and Weltlich will come out on top and the city on the losing end.
Answer is

City residents will be just fine. There are committed, determined residents to this effort.

By Citizen's will Prevail
Referendum on FIX

This will be another opportunity for Fix to show his contempt for the voters of Pickerington. If in fact there are sufficient number of valid signatures then I believe the next step is for the City Finance Director to get a legal opinion and if that is OK?’ed by the lawyers then she can place the referendum on the November Ballot. The point here is that this development agreement is not a valid agreement at this point. It must become effective before the agreement is valid. It can only become valid with voter approval in November. If the Trustees make a counter offer so to speak then the City Council must start from scratch with a new ordinance to approve it and that will take three readings.

If the Trustees reject the current council proposal and make a counter offer then the ball would be in the council?’s court.

So the questions is, ?“are you feeling lucky today punk? Did I fire 6 rounds or did I fire 7 rounds??”

Can Fix and his three other votes on council afford a referendum on their position? Judging by some of the comments coming back from those that went out to get the signatures there appears to be some huge discrepancies between what the voter?’s priorities are and what Keith Smith and Jeff Fix think those priorities are. Did these two council members embellish their comments to give the impression that there was voter support for a city/township agreement? Is embellishing your story something close to lying to the public?

There is growing evidence that Fix is allowing his election to office to go to his head. He is openly showing his contempt for fellow members of council and in many ways regular citizens that vote. He is telling people that he and Keith are the only two qualified to make the decisions for the city. That is because they both run BIG companies. (actually they are both in operations). They are go-fors like the rest of us. Fix somehow thinks a business degree trumps all other degrees and experience. Actually business degree majors are people that couldn?’t do the math. Fix is one. That is way you see NO NUMBERS WITH HIS ARGUMENTS.
