Very Thankful
I am very thankful to all of the citizens who gathered signatures for the petitions so that our voices could be heard. While the rest of us were busy with jobs, family, commitments, fighting the weather,& trying to stay warm, these dedicated folks were out in freezing weather working to ensure that our rights would not be trampled. The amazing part is they were busy with the very same things as the rest of us & still found the time to collect signatures! They have my greatest respect.

She's wrong
Ms. Carter is wrong when she states ''This is not a battle between old mayors or former people who served on council.''
How is it that Brian Wisniewski and Ted Hackworth got tied in so tightly with ''old mayors or former people who served on council''?
When Brian and Ted were campaigning, weren't these the ''bad guys''?
What alternatives are Brian and Ted proposing to bring economic development into the area? A zoning change so more used car lots can invade? (Remember that?)
See, that's the thing. They have no other ideas, they just know they're opposed to the current one. I'm not saying the economic development agreement is a good one, but it's the only one on the table.
How did relations between former colleagues become so sour? I don't want to hear the same old lines about everything Jeff Fix did wrong. It's really irrelevant.
City residents don't really care about personal conflicts.
Ted and Brian are being hoodwinked.
Instead of ''old mayors or former people who served on council'' coming together with Ted and Brian for the good of the city, I'd rather see the current council come together for the good of the city.
The ''old mayors or former people who served on council'' weren't working for the good of the city when they were supposed to be working for the good of the city.
I doubt they've changed.

What planet you'd just land from
Are you nuts?
Any former officials made up a minority of those who helped on the petition drives. It was mostly citizens like Carol.
Secondly, the agreement most likely would have passed 7-0 if they would make some changes in the agreement re: annexation.
How did the relationship sour? Things like communication between Canal/Violet stating Fix will deliver votes without including Ted and Brian in forming the document. That's just the tip of the backdooring. Working together? Start with your boy Fix. He's the one who wants to sell the city out.
Lastly, none of the former officials would ever sell our city out like this. I'd take any one of them over Fix all day long.

Worry about this
You fool which of these former councilmen did Brian and Ted run against? Here were the 2003 candidates for council. Chris Smith, Jack Bowman, Julie Smith, Diane Shankland, Heidi Riggs, Ted Hackworth and Brian Wisniewski. Now that Lee Gray happened to carry a referendum petition, Ted and Brian are in tight with them. I certainly hope you lie awake at night worrying about this. By trying to spread your paranoia you are trying to divert attention away from the real issue and that is how bad this development agreement is for the city.
What you should worry about is that if Lee Gray were to run for office he would more than likely beat Shaver or Fix or who ever these clowns at city hall put up to run for Mayor or Council.
