gee it was a great idea
in the past, we have duplicate utility services in the ground in places, two police forces, why not just duplicate everything, that must be way cheaper and less wasteful, and I am sure everyones attention to the matter of the dividing would make our community a safer better place to live in the meantime.

Are you proposing that Violet Township be served by the Pickerington police department and the Pickerington utility services? Would this save us all anything?

The beat goes on
I would say there is probably more to come on this issue. I do not know how you expect to see the Pickerington City council champion the paper township issue when they are trying their best to give away those same city rights. If this is to be done it will take citizen's action.
Much of the financials are public record. Some of which have already been obtained. The action to form a paper township can either be an action of council or an action directing council to act as a result of a citizen's initiative. If the citizens were to do this then it may take a couple of steps. Also remember that an initiative doesn't have time limits to complete.
Obviously if the majority of council continues to stonewall its own residents there will be a time that action may be taken directly against the offending members or the leader of this stonewalling.
Obviously Fix is busy trying to find and have a slate to run this fall that he can control. Brian and Ted's seats are up for election against Heidi's seat. The odds are in Fix's favor here to go after two seats rather than a need for all three seats. However the initiative process could continue even if Fix was successful in gaining a firm control over council in November.

Show us the numbers
Instead of these news clip like comments show us some real numbers and answer some real questions. Maybe we are all wrong in our thinking prove to us that we are actually wrong. The township residents have made fun of the City residents for paying the higher taxes only now we find some of those higher taxes are going directly into the township pockets for NOTHING in return. Maybe we will find a way without the township.
